Timeline.

Every project is unique, but this represents a typical schedule from design to launch.

To begin

  • Signed proposal & estimate returned with 1/3 deposit
  • Creative Brief completed by client & reviewed by KWALL
  • Assets (logo, sample photography, etc) provided by client
  • Calendar created by KWALL and agreed upon by client

Weeks 1-2

  • Meeting (in-person or phone) to review creative brief
  • Wireframe creation, presentation & approval (in-person if local)

Weeks 3-4

  • Initial design (typically homepage)
  • Client engages photographer if necessary
  • Copywriting begins if applicable
  • Get on developer’s schedule

Weeks 5-7

  • Revise and finalize initial design direction
  • Design other templates or unique pages
  • Meet, review, revise and approval of all templates
  • All photography & content should be delivered by the end of week 6 (in the event design and/or development goes faster than expected we could begin inputting content early which is why this isn’t due later)

Week 8-9

  • Code HTML templates & test

Weeks 10-12

  • WordPress development

Week 13-14

  • Build out site with content already provided by client at week 5 (photos, text, sitemap)

Week 15

  • Internal site review, re-test across browsers and devices, content and layout tweaks (particularly to mobile devices)

Week 16

  • Wiggle room of one week for anything that takes longer than expected or changes in the schedule
  • Launch when ready (allow up to 2 days for DNS to propagate if we need to point URL to new hosting space)
